Sector Performance

In 2025, global automotive and mobility M&A activity was mixed, with deal volume decreasing slightly relative to 2024 while overall deal value increased as strategic buyers ramped up technology investments.

Activity in the first half of the year was subdued as OEMs and suppliers navigated tariff pressures and shifting policy priorities, including reduced emphasis on EVs amid expiring incentives. Volume and value rebounded in the second half of the year, driven by OEMs and top-tier suppliers pursuing AI, advanced sensor, and software capabilities. The year also saw continued use of joint ventures and partnerships as dealmakers sought to bolster technological capabilities and enhance cost competitiveness.
