Globally Connected Network can be brought to life with messaging found in the handbook. Here’s a few quick examples:

“Truly global and locally exceptional.”

“Global reach and local excellence gives our clients the best of both worlds: the ability to see the macro and deploy at scale, while always being immersed in what matters locally.”

“Truly global and locally exceptional.”

“Seamlessly integrated across borders.”

To get there yourself, try to use collective pronouns, (like ‘we’, ‘our’ and ‘us’) over more singular options (like ‘Hogan Lovells Cadwalader’, ‘the firm’, ‘it’).

And familiarize yourself with verbs that signal collaboration too. The likes of ‘connected’, ‘bringing together’, ‘coordinate’ subtly paint a picture of a joined-up operation.

What does it look like when a firm is working as one team? See if you can spot it in the following before and after passages:

Before

We work as a globally connected law firm with offices across major financial centers, supporting clients wherever they operate.

Our teams work across borders to advise on complex matters, bringing together expertise from different jurisdictions to ensure consistent, high-quality advice across all client work.

We are able to respond quickly to client needs across time zones, drawing on our global network to deliver coordinated support on transactions, disputes and regulatory issues.

After

We work as one integrated firm across borders, combining local knowledge with global coordination so clients get joined-up support wherever they need it.

When a client is dealing with a regulatory investigation in Frankfurt, a deal signing in New York, or a dispute linked to a joint venture in Singapore, we work it as one team — with lawyers in each location staying connected throughout, rather than handing things off between offices.

That might mean competition lawyers in Brussels working directly alongside deal teams in London and regulatory specialists in Washington, all shaping the same matter in real time as it develops.

What matters isn’t where we sit. It’s how quickly we connect the right people to the right problem — and keep everything moving.
